Things we love: Pretty Cosmetics

We love the products and philosophy behind Pretty Organic Cosmetics, a small, new company that is currently carried exclusively at Essence of Life Organics in Toronto’s Kensington Market. We recently touched base with founder and registered nutritionist, Wanda Meglis who told us about the birth of her organic, clean, skin care. Read their story below and head over to Essence of Life and check out their lines of soaps, serums, moisturizers and more!

My sister and I created Pretty Organic Cosmetics after discovering that many brands today contain an endless list of synthetic ingredients, even in “natural” or “organic” product lines.  Having suffered from chronic eczema for most of my life, we searched to no avail for a skin care line that did not aggravate my sensitive skin. We were extremely disappointed in the lack of brands that did not contain synthetic fragrances, sulphates, propylene glycol, or harsh preservatives.

By putting our two heads together, we realized that with our combined skills (holistic nutrition, make-up artistry and aesthetics) we could fill this niche.

Pretty was born in 2007.

After years of product research and development, we realized that “less is more” when it comes to skin care.  Parallel to our lifestyles, we chose to follow a holistic approach, using only the purest natural ingredients sourced from around the world.  The resulting aroma-therapeutic blends were created, all with tender loving care.
